Swaps and PIFs

My Raggedy Anne I made for the Sugar and Spice Annie Swap, hosted by Aunt Pitty Pat, arrived safely at her new home this week. She's joined Ani and her lovely doll collection so I think she'll be very happy there. Here's a pic of the Annie I sent.

Other news this week is my PIF's have started arriving at their destinations, "Sew Much Fabric, Sew Little Time, Sew True" and "Enbellefrance" have both arrived and "Trashcan's", must be about to knock on the door.

I'm now working on projects for the Pincushion Swap and the Christmas in July Swap, lots to keep me busy!

Pay It Forward

PIF recipient Ann from Enbellefrance emailed me a fortnight ago and asked if rather than send a gift to her that I donate her gift towards the Bushfire Relief. After a few emails back and forth we chose to donate some sewing goodies to a fellow stitcher. Tomorrow I will be sending a package off to a member of the Victorian Quilters Guild to give away.

Imade a sewing caddy, covered tape measure and scisssor fob (an OPAM finish for Feb!)
and included, some calico, two fat quarters, tin of buttons, cotton thread, dmc threads, pincushion and needles and pins.

I hope this small gift helps someone as they start to rebuild their lives! Thank-you Ann for giving away your PIF gift.

Close Ups

Simone asked for a picture of the inside of this
the lovely gift I received from my Stitcher's Angel Lieve Huys .so here it is

It's shown here with the stitchery inside. A great way to keep those "Works in Progress".

I also want to show you a close up of Stina's beautiful stitching on the PIF she sent me, her poor hand must've been aching after all this work. I'm still smiling from ear-to-ear, blessed to receive such lovely gifts.

It must be Christmas!

Well today it feels like it!

As DS was heading off toschool he came back in the house with two parcels, to his disappointment they were both for me!! I felt like a little kid all over again.

The first parcel is from my Stitchers Angel, the beautiful Lieve Huys (No Blog) who owns a quilt shop in Belgium

Oops need to unwrap it....
Just look at these beautiful goodies a scissor keep with a little pair of scissors (from French magazine "Quilt Country"), a pincushion (from May Britt's blog), a lovely stitchery and stranded cottons and a gorgeous roll to put my work in!! I've always wanted one of these rolls!! I know Lieve has read my blog because she knows about my addiction to pincushions!

Lieve, you have truly spoilt me, you are one generous angel , thank-you so much I'll treasure it forever!

The second is my PIF from wonderful Stina. I know she's had a sore hand and I'm just amazed at how beautiful her work is. Look at this lovely wallhanging I should've ironed out the creases before I took a photo but I couldn't wait, just had to show it to you all....

it's beautiful Stina, Thank-you so much!! By the way I ate the chockies and they were scrummy!!

Thank-you ladies you made my day, I'll be smiling from ear to ear all day:-)

I better make a start on my PIFS for Ann J, Karol-Ann & Trashalou!!

It's Here!!!

A parcel arrived today ....

With all these little packages inside, wonder who it is from ......Finally it is reavealed "Icannaetell" is none other than Trashalou!!

I suspect she chose this postcard for a reason since I live in none other than Tasmania, the place where convicts were sent (Lucky convicts is all I say!)

And look what all the parcels contained......

All this lovely goodness has bought a super big smile to my face. A big thank-you goes out to Trashalou for being so generous and such a fun swap partner and also to Linda for hosting this swap! That also finalises my PIF's as Trashalou is my first participant!!

My First PIF

I'm participating in my first PIF thanks to Stina, so this is the rules...

It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on the blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog
So is anybody up for some fun...??Make a comment and say you want to play along and I will add you to my PIF!!
