Thread Catcher

I just love this little thread catcher by The Stitching Room. It is so handy resting on the arm of my chair and collecting all my loose threads. I even made one for Lynette Anderson as part of our swap. The fabrics were leftovers from a gift from my old schoolmate Valerie.

The Quilted Crow's Autumn Gathering

I had a great time at the Quilted Crows Autumn Gathering. Twice a year the lovely ladies from this beautiful shop host a get together and invite very talented designers to join us and showcase their beautiful work. This year Kerrie Gillespie and Lynette Anderson were those designers and their work is even better in real life.

The day was made even more special because Lynette and I had arranged an Autumn Swap and what a wonderful gift I received, a superbly made Crabapple Hill pincushion acorn, plus needles, variegated thread, handpainted button and birdhouse (there was also a chocolate snail but I ate that). Check out Lynette's blog to see what I gave her plus there's a picture of me there too.

The fun didn't stop there as I also bought lots of goodies to bring home.I had a great time and met some lovely ladies and even made some new friends!

Workshop - Almost finished

Remember the Hugs 'n Kisses workshop I went to in February well here's the result. I still have to put a border on it and quilt in the gaps but the colouring is finally finished and I love it and just wanted to let you all see it. Thank-you to Helen for the tutoring!!

I was tagged by Jo so I have to tell you 7 random/weird/unusual things about me........

  1. Like Jo I pull strange faces when I'm concentrating, and always with a frown.
  2. I have ugly toes
  3. I have to have a cup of tea as soon as I get up in the morning
  4. I get sympathy morning sickness for my close friends
  5. I have a phobia of big bridges, won't drive over them but fine as a passenger
  6. I love watching bumble bees
  7. I love beetroot sandwiches, has to be fresh white bread, butter and cold beetroot

So that's what's "abnormal" about me, so if Carin, May Britt, Lynette, Helen , AnnieB & Sarah would like to play I'll tag you.

I've been taking part in this wonderful project "Snugglybug Rug Project". Volunteers make quilts for sick kids at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

This is my first block, made for Sammy and check out here assembled with all everyone else's blocks..It looks so cozy!

And this one is for Tommy, can't wait to see it assembled with everyone elses.

It's a fun project to be involved with!!
