Painting faces

Face painting lessons for Cath's Needleturn Club have started.
Here's my first practice, it's not that great, I'm no master so I'll practice a few more before I put paint my appliqued dolly. I also need to practice my very fine strokes. It's fun though and Cath's instructions are so easy to follow!

Block A done and dusted!

I'm keeping up to date with the Stitchalong, Block A is now complete
There's lots of piecing in these blocks but once I get started I have to finish the block. The next block I'm doing is C, plenty of work in the stitchery to keep me busy for awhile!

Snips and snails...

I got sidetracked after seeing Lisa's snails , she's inspired me to make one too.

I've had this book for a few weeks now, Tone Finanger's characters are so sweet. It's about time I stop browsing and start making all my favourites. I love her Bumble Bee from this book so it's next on the list. What's your favourite Tilda Character?

~Beauty is Timeless~

Jenny from Elefantz is auctioning a gorgeous handmade cushion that she designed to raise money to buy Clean Delivery Kits for mothers in Somalia. You can still buy a pdf of the pattern for $4 until Monday the 17th and all proceeds go towards more kits. I've bought my pattern, just wish I had more time to make it! Maybe I need to put a bid in too.
So do your bit and either buy a pattern or put a bid in for the beautiful cushion. Oh and Jenny is also having a giveaway for one lucky person who supports this wonderful initiative! So click here for more details.

Mother's Day

I had a lovely Mother's Day.
No sleeping in at my place or breakfast in bed, I woke up at 6am and headed off to The Mother's Day Classic where I volunteered my services again after enjoying last years event. Over 2000 runners and walkers took part in Hobart and helped to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, over 100,000 people took part Australia wide. Well done to all!!

I came home to freshly baked scones by my 13yo son and was allowed some "me" time so what else can a girl do but stitch. I finished up a shop sample for The Quilted Crow of Marg Low's pattern "Dressy Hangers", I'll definitely be making these for myself and gifts, they're so cute!

P.S. Happy Mother's Day to my Mum, I tried to call you but it kept going straight to message bank!

P.S.S. Happy Mother's Day to my MIL Sandra, DH called you while I was out!

Just to show you I do work!

Apart from winning a few prizes these last few weeks I have been working hard. I've been doing a litle stitching for Helen, here's some sneak peaks....
Helen did the design and colouring, I've added the stitching for her as she's rather busy preparing for her trip to Spring Market.
I've also joined Cath's Raggedy Needleturn Applique Club and I've made a good start on our first project plus I've been making up a few samples for my friends at The Quilted Crow.
Speaking of The Quilted Crow if you're going to AQC do stop by their stand and say hello!
Work on my Gardener's Journal is also slowly progressing but I hope to hape next next block finished by the end of the month so I can keep up with the Stitch-a-long group!
We're expecting a bit of rain tomorrow, perfect stitching weather.
