Isn't she just the sweetest Annie you've ever seen!
Lisa also included the most delicious smelling wax melts and I purchased some doll hair.
If you're into Annies you should check out her blog and shop, you won't be dissappointed!

ANZAC Day 2010

I've been to many ANZAC Day ceremonies either taking apart in them as an army cadet or watching on the sidelines as a child then as a young mum myself watching my husband march. I always get a lump in my throat when old diggers march by and wonder where they've been and what they had to endure. Although the ranks have dwindled from the first and second world wars it is great to see our Viet Vets getting the recognition they deserve. The women too are proudly present, I've heard some amazing stories this week of women who served. How brave they all were.
Today we went into Hobart to watch the parade, it was proudly led by a historical group of lighthorsemen...
closely followed by the Australian Army Band....
and H's Drummer Boy was at the front....
The parade finishes at the Cenotaph
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
 Lest We Forget.

I think I've told you this before.....

I'm Lucky!
Yes it's happened again, maybe my luck no longer comes in 3's and just in case I bought a Powerball Ticket in tonight's Lotto!
This lovely parcel was waiting for me when I got home....
The card says....
I won Cubby House Craft's 100th post giveaway!
Lisa's work is beautiful and she always makes projects I love and want to make myself but not this time, I don't have to make one of these now as I have my very own Journal Cover made by Lisa! I Love it!!
There's also a crocheted flower, ribbons and a lovely rose & lavender sachet that has already made it's way into my drawer.
Thank-you Lisa! I love It!
Now go and visit Lisa's blog and see the other journal covers she made, they're all gorgeous and while you're there checkout her other projects!

Lucky Me :-)

These little packages were sitting at my front door yesterday.

Sarah had dropped them off, shame I missed her!
I won Sarah's 250th post draw, Lucky Me!!
Look what was inside....
Sarah had let me chosen the little fabric brooch, I loved the pastel one.
Thank-you Sarah, they're all gorgeous!
So lucky me has won two giveaways in a short period of time, now for some reason I win in groups of 3, so yes I put Lotto on but I'm not that lucky! But I was lucky to win Olive Grove Primitives 1st Blogovesary giveaway. Lisa makes gorgeous raggedy annes and I was allowed to choose one from her dollies. Stay tuned and when she arrives I'll show you which one I picked!

A Birthday Wish and a bargain buy

Firstly I want to say a Big Happy "Twenty-Twenty" Birthday to my dear friend Fee! It was Fee's birthday on Friday and her party was last night.
Fee and I met through blogging and we've become good friends, definitely stitching soul sisters!!

Love ya Fee!

I live on a street in Tasmania surrounded by elderly and sadly we've had a few farewells over the last year. The most recent the gentlemen passed away and he was the carer for his wife who had advanced dementia at 94, she is now in a nursing home and their son has been looking after the estate and he held a garage sale yesterday. I popped in to say hello and to see what his plans are for the house, I'm so pleased he and his wife are moving in and it isn't becoming a rental.
I picked up a few vintage bargains all for $10.
a suitcase for $2
vintage sheets for $4
Bag of zips $1
Plate for $2
and I said to keep to change as I felt like I had been very lucky.
Anyway I'm doing a bit of stitching this weekend for Helen, I'll show you a sneak peak a bit later when I've done a bit more.
Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!

All Hail the Mighty Ric-Rac!

How many of you follow this fantasticly, creative blogger? I guess there's a huge number of you who admire her just as much as I do. (Don't blush Jod, you know I adore you!) Well I think it's time I come clean and let you all know I'm part of Senior Management, as Jod likes to refer to her small group of support bloggers, a road tester of her gorgeous patterns. I first came across Ric-Rac when she wrote posts like this and I was truly smitten with her. Her gorgeous dollies and stories had me giggling and I wanted to own my very own. At the time she was becoming increasingly popular and it was hard to get my hands on one of these cuties so along with many others I'm sure convinced Jod to venture into the world of pattern writing and by doing this she could have more time creating all those gorgeous little characters we've all grown to love.
Jod is a Librabrian at a Primary School where I'm sure her wicked sense of humour comes from working with littlies. Jod is also known as the Freaky Selvedge Queen - who could forget her stunning daughter in the beautiful selvedge frock!
Jod has suffered many illnesses on her road to stardom like EITTTS and she writes hilarious posts like this that had me singing the tune as I read along. She's a community minded person who also donates to good causes like Softies for Mirabel and the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
I've only met Jod briefly but feel like I've known her for ages.
So Jod from one nutter to another I just want to say a huge Thank-you for allowing me to be a part of your team, I love you heaps and I look forward to seeing your creative business grow into something huge so you don't need to win lotto and you can give up the day job!
Now here's a peak of what I've been road testing this week, bet you can't wait to get your hands on this pattern!
Meet Ernst's relative, Elliot!

They're all Pretties!

My hubby has returned from his little trip to the Gemboree which means I have my camera back and I can share some photos with you.

Here's the great package of goodies Elyte sent me for the Ugly Swap. Elyte teamed up my greenish and brown print with a rich brown and gold to make a zippered pouch, covered notebook, needlecase and pincushion plus she included a beautiful tea cosy! Don't you think Elyte has done a fabulous job!! I love them all, thank-you Elyte you've been a wonderful swap partner!
At the recent gathering Helen challenged a few of us to turn a 1/16th piece of fabric into something by tomorrow. My piece of fabric was striped so I teamed it up with a floral print that I picked up at Fiona's on Saturday and using the link that Elyte found created a zippered pouch.  This is a great project to practice stippling and zippers, two things I fear most in the stitching world. I think I've done a pretty good job just don't look too closely at the stippling, I definitely need more practice.
I've also finished two BOM blocks, the first is from Cori's new free BOM Baby Bracelet Blessings
and the second is Block G from A Gardener's Journal, with a slight variation, can you pick it?
I've got the whole week off work, hopefully I'll have a few more finishes to show you soon!
Hope you all had a visit from the Easter Bunny, I'm all chocolated out!!

Pretty Uglies

Elyte has received her parcel, it's my creation from her "ugly" piece of fabric for the Ugly swap hosted by Fiona and Jen. Not sure if I've made it any better but it's fun to be challenged and use colours I don't normally use. Elyte says she likes it (I think she's be super nice!). My parcel from Elyte has arrived too but unfortunately my DH has taken my camera for a couple of days to the Gemboree in Devonport (It's an annual rock and mineral show held in Australia). Elyte has the talent for this, she has made me a gorgeous zippered pouch and accessories plus my first ever tea cosy. So give me a couple of days and I'll post a pic because they're worth seeing!! Thank-you Elyte for being a marvellous swap partner! Thanks also to Fiona and Jen for being great swap mummas!
