Hobart Doll & Bear Show

We had some pretty miserable weather on Saturday so we decided to not go to the snow, instead I went to the Hobart Doll & BearShow and what a show it was. The work put into these are simply amazing. There's the magnificent porcelain dolls....
Gorgeous cloth dolls......Cute little teddies......
dolls that look like they're almost breathing.....
and the ones that are just soooo cute..... (and life-like too!)
There were stallholders selling there wares, raffles and yummy food too. It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday arvo out of the rain and wind!

I Created a Monster!

Have you ever tried to make something and not followed a pattern and just tried to wing it? Well I did and I shouldn't have! In trying to use a UFO and create myself a machine cover as part of Elefantz's challenge I created a monster!! I used the beautiful mushrooms that I made when I was learning how to do applique with my Mum and ruined them! Not Happy Jan!!! Anyway I accept that it sucks and it will have to do until I win the prize so I can make a gorgeous new one! OOps did I reveal that there's a giveaway as part of the challenge, oh well cat's out of the bag head on over the Jennifer's and you can read all about it.

They're Back!

Was I relieved this morning to find all my blogs back on my follow list! I was so upset yesterday, I was having withdrawls, I definitely have a problem..... I'm a blog addict!! Wonder if there's a group out there that supports this kind of addiction?

Talking about blogs, I was having an email conversation with Annie the other day and the word "Lurking" came up, you know how people lurk around blogs and never leave comments. Well we think it sounds kind of sinister so we've come up with a new word "Blogurking". Us bloggers have created a whole new language that non-bloggers just don't get, like Blogoverse, and Blogoversary and every other term that relates to blogging. Tell us what you think about our new word or if there's a better name for it we can adopt as our own?

PS I'll stop the posts without pictures soon, I promise!

AAAAAAaaaaRRgghHH!

I've lost my list of blogs I follow off my dashboard!!
They've even dissappeared in Google Reader :-(
How will I know when all my favourite bloggers have made a post?
Hopefully it'll be restored soon!

I have to show you what I got!!

I just wanted to share with you the things I received for my 40th. My gorgeous hubby and son gave me The Quilted Crow's finishing kit for the Quilt Aid quilt "Bluebird of Hope" (It arrived today!) It was wrapped so beautifully I didn't want to open it!
They also gave me a new mobile phone, so no more battery going flat 5 minutes after it's been recharged!
My Mum and sister gave me this fabulous cutting mat that rotates 360 degrees, how great is that!

They've also bought me one of the Quilt Aid blocks but it's still in transit.

My workmate and good friend Ange gave me a beaut frame from Creative Memories (those are my feet in the middle!)

My long time friend Valerie (no blog) sent me some beautiful fabrics and scrapbooking embellishments. My classmate Helen ( hee! hee! we're doing a photoshop class together) gave me a set of her patterns for "Twas a night before Xmas" and wait for it... a jelly roll called "Authentic", it is even more scrummy in real life.and another surprise came in today's mail from my Robyn, how gorgeous is this pear! I love It!

I've never felt so spoilt in my whole life! It's a lovely feeling, thank-you everyone for making turning 40 so much fun!
