Big Thank-you to Helen for co-ordinating this swap and arranging for the talented designers to provide us with such lovely projects. How many did you make? I made 3 but have plans to make them all.

Holiday and Grab Bags

It was a public holiday here yesterday for the Hobart Show, I spent the day stitching, doing a few chores and looking after my son.
I worked on my Noah's Arc blocks, a little gift for my Stitching Angel package and I made a grab bag. It's a bit dull so I might add something to it, maybe some embroidery....hhhmmm, not sure, any ideas?
There's a link to the grab bag pattern under Great Tutorials in my side bar.

Baby Shower

I'm absent from blogger for a few days and people have been wondering if I'm okay, well I'm still here and just had a busy weekend. DS was playing in the Tasmanian Southern Schools Basketball Championships and I also had to co-host a baby shower for a dear friend.

The basketball was great, his team made it to the second round before being knocked out but they put in alot of effort and had lots of fun.
My friend and I have been planning this baby shower for weeks, we had lots of food...
lots of games and gifts from friends....Everone wore these little name tags I made

and received a little gift at the end, a cute cup and saucer filled with Lindt Chocolates!

This was the gift I made my friendIt's from a Homespun Magazine, if anyone wants to know which issue, email me and I'll get the details for you

I filled it with some goodies and she loved it! I'd worked on this from the day she first told me they were trying to conceive and I knew it wouldn't take her long, I wonder what she'll have....a boy or girl? I know she'll make a wonderful mother!!

Ooh and look at the lovely gift she gave us for organising the baby shower, beautiful cream and soap from The Body Shop

So now my busy weekend is over, back to work tomorrow and I'm going to get on my bike and ride there. Wednesday last week was Ride To Work Day in Australia and I did that just, I used to ride to work all the time when I worked in the city, it was a great ride thatfollws the Derwent River, very picturesque. The ride I take now is only 10 minutes, not very scenic but good for me and good for the environment! Hopefully it doesn't rain!

Crab apple Hill Pincushion done!

Remember the pincushion for Quilt Fabric Delights Pincushion of the Month by Crab-apple Hill. well I finished it, I said I would!
It was a bit fiddly getting the ball closed and tied off.. The button was simple and the flower was too. Don't look under the flower though cause it's a bit messy just admire it from the top!

Tonight I'll be working on the xmas baubles for my Tassie Blogging Buddies!

Obsessed

Are other stitchers as obsessed as I am at the moment with pincushions? I just can't get enough of them, inspired by the beautiful one on Daisy Quilts, I just had to make one. You can find the tutorial on here by Heather Bailey.

I used Robyn's method of using 4 charm squares....with 2 cut in half for the sides but I used 3" squares, what a quick and easy pincushion to whip up.
I also signed up for Quilt Fabric Delights Pincushion of the Month, I haven't done the first one yet but I've almost finished the second one by Crab-apple Hill. I hope to post about it tomorrow!
Lynette Anderson has also announced 2 new patterns with two pincushions in each, might just have to get them for myself.
Wonder when this obsession will end and a new one takes it's place?

Postcard from Tassie

Here's a postcard for Sarah from Quilt Fabric Delights, this is what she'd see if she delivered a PinCushion BOM to my place. My office has the best view...

Then we'd vist Cadbury Chocolate Factory to get our fill of chocolate, just 5 minutes down the road...yyyuuummmo!

(My son and his friend being silly putting the hair nets over their faces)

Then off to Richmond to see a Tassie Devil .... and over the Richmond bridge, built by convicts....

Then we'd end the trip with a bit of camping and fossicking for sapphires, my other favourite past time. I love sitting around the campfire at night when there's not a cloud in the sky, trillions of stars and watching for satellites flying by. Most times we have the campsite to ourself!

Ooh and if you don't like camping there's a hotel 15 minutes down the road!!
