An Angels Story & Sick Boy

Some of you know that DS has been home the last 3 days with a virus, he's not been well at all. His favourite spot to recuperate is the lounge and watching dvd's.....

So I've had a few days at home keeping an eye on his temperature and fussing over him, and when I haven't been I've been stitching. I finished the Couch Companion, as seen in the previous post and I've also finished another Angel block - "Flying School"

Think I'll do the Librarian block next.

School Fair for 2008 is Over

And what a long weekend it has been, setting up yesterday and today selling. Here's a snap of the stall I co-ordinated, the Craft Stall of course.

Sales were down this year but the people were sure there. Thank-you to Tonya, Ange, Lachlan & Mitchell, my Mum and sister for all there help. Big thanks to my sister for having to race out before the fair to get some goodies that I'd forgotten to get for the face painting and hairdooz stall.
My feet and back are sore, going to have an early night. At least now I can concentrate on my own projects again.

Aren't Mums the best!

My Mum and sister are visiting this weekend, they've already picked out their items from my craft stall. Mum gave me a belated birthday present and it was full of goodies. She has known for ages that I've wanted this book

and there's even a little pin with a dutchman's puzzle block on it. The package also contained 2 pairs of knitted socks (Mum knows I love knitted socks in bright colours!).....

and some gorgeous fabrics
Thank-you Mum, I love all my pressies!

Stitcher's Angel Swap is underway!

Helen has posted out all the swap partners, my first clue to you all is that I've never had swap go to this country before. If you're not taking part in the swap you can still download the projects and make them for yourself. The first project is from Helen and it's a gorgeous couch companion, can't wait to start seeing photos all over blogland with everyone's colour choices for this. My second clue is one of the colours she likes is blue. Sorry to tease but I figure over the next few weeks I'll post little clues as to who my partner is.

Big thank-you to Helen for organising this swap and all the wonderful designers!

Apologies

Apologies to anyone who has left a message or sent me an email and not received a reply, something has happened with my Yahoo account and I've been unable to send or reply to emails since last week. I can see comments on my blog of course and I'm still receiving emails and if necessary I can reply by either my DH's account or from work, so please continue to email and leave comments.
Hopefully I'll have it sorted out soon!

Angels and Harrys

In between family, work, school sports and preparing items for the craft stall for our school fair in two weeks I've managed to complete 4 angels

and I finished two of these fellas, Harry (Rosalie Quinlan pattern featured in a Homespun magazine). I'm going to put them on our school craft stall, they're just so adorable. I didn't include the buttons or paint the shoes so they'll be suitable for the under 3's.

Giveaway at Polka Dots and Ric Rac

Bloghop over to Polka Dots and Ric Rac for a lovely giveaway celebrating 1 year of blogging and don't forget to welcome her new grandson Luke to the world, he looks adorable!!
P.S. Rosalie Quinlan's having a giveaway too!

Birthday Week

Only a few of my friends new it was my 39th birthday on Monday, not that I'm keeping it a secret but I didn't want to make a big song and dance about it. My best friend from high school, Valerie, gave me this beautiful Moda Jelly Roll "Portobello", just gorgeous. I've decided to use it to make "Gardner's Journal", another beautiful pattern by Hatched & Patched. Thank-you Valerie, I'm going to enjoy this project. My DH & DS didn't forget me totally. DS made me this lovely card although DH thought it was funny and told DS it was my 40th! It included a few vouchers, even one for Peace & Quiet! They even gave me some pretty roses and cooked dinner. The next pressie was from Nelle, who lives in central Queensland. We used to work together in Tassie and we're now lifelong friends. Thank-you Nelle, the lotions and potions will make me smell beautiful. To end the week I joined my friend Sarah and others at the Gold Class Cinemas to see this:-

What a great show, found myself singing and laughing, thoroughly recommend it. I had to buy the CD, even though I've got every single ABBA song.

And today ends with a little shopping, courtesy of DH, some lovely fabrics to compliment those I received from Valerie. I did have plans to buy a Pandora bracelet too but I'm going to check the internet for best prices, so I'm off shopping online this time.
