Arctic Blast

We received another arctic blast over Tassie during the last 24 hours, there's snow on Mt Wellington, I guess Spring doesn't want to come here yet.
This is the view from work....
Growing up in Queensland I still get excited when I see snow, it brings out the child in me.
What was I to do but insist that there was work to do at the foot hills of Mt Wellington and off on a little road trip I went to see this....

.....its so pretty.
I even bought some snow back to the office and had my very own snowman, that was
until the office heating melted the poor fella!
Snow's lovely but I'm not sure I'd like to live right amongst it!

we're gearing up here in a few months for snowy weather, leaves are beginning to turn ,days are getting shorter and it is actually fall temps instead of mid-summer temps. But I really like your desk snowman

Just the thought of snow on Mount Wellington makes me feel cold, Jo (though it is pretty chilly in Ballarat here today). I vividly remember driving in to Hobart from Kettering from work , getting out of the car to walk up to TAFE in Campbell St and being hit by the winds from the Antarctic via Mt Wellington - brr!

Oh that looks too cold for me. It has been cold here also I was thinking it would be warm when we returned from QLD. sadly it is not. Roll on summer. I must admit though the snow does look pretty.

There is something romantic about snow when you don't live in it. After one winter in Chicago, walking to work through the snow, which turns to ice, the romance disappeared. But it does look beautiful from a distance.

Ok now thats just wrong! It should be new growth green and pale pink and white buds not white, icy chilliness.
I've given up trying to make sense of the weather.
Do adore the desk snowman though, he is so cute.

Ooooo loved your post... especially your snowman.. how darn cute! What a super view you have of Mt Wellington. In the 4 times I've gone to Hobart, we have only been able to get to the top of the Mtn once!! Every other time there was too much snow... and we've been in summer/January too. Crazy weather! Keep warm Jo xx
