AQC 2009 Working Hard...NOT!!

Here's a picture of Diedre and I on The Quilted Crows stand, Diedre and Leonnie worked very hard, they were there every day.
After our dining experience on Lygon St Friday night I decided to try the spruiking tactic "Fat Eights only $2.50...What a Bargain!" We had lots of laughs!I shopped too, so many stalls with yummy fabrics and goodies, here's my stash apart from the pinboard and silicone icecube trays I bought from IKEA! I love my bundle of reproduction fabrics from The Quilted Crow, they're for my Dear Jane that I want to start this year.Ooh and there is a bag pattern and a packet of needles missing from this photo too!
Melbourne is a bustling city, I felt like a real country bumpkin, it's so different to what I'm used too. Public transport is fantastic, and there's a 7-11 on every street! But what I loved most is the public art, this is my favourite, no idea what street it was on but it looks fabulous.
I'll show some photos next time of some of the quilts that were on show, there was a good mixture of traditional and art quilts, someone even made a Pavlova one!

Your trip looks like it was so much fun. I love the public art! Who *thinks* of these things! Someday I'll get down under, but it's a looong way from Texas. Maybe some of you will come to Houston for the quilt show someday - well, I can hope! It was really nice to see the group picture of your fellow Tasmania bloggers; it's good to be able to put faces to their blogs. And at with my age, size, clothing and comfortable shoes, I'd fit right in! lol Glad you had a good time.

Happy quilting,
Susan

Wow, the street art is so cool...
You'll start a DJ this year? Cool! Love the reproductions you chose...I'd so love to join in but I think my piecing skills won't allow such intricate blocks...well, we'll see... Do you have the DJ CD?
Hugs, Julia

Halfway up Swanston Street in front of the Museum and Library. I shall hazard a guess and say you were on a 1, 16, 72 tram. ;-)

I miss Melbourne.

Love the art. Brilliant. You are so lucky to have had that visit! I'm jealous, but am comforting myself with the fact that we do have an Ikea in Adelaide. My house is full of pinboards and ice cube trays!

It is never hard work selling cool stuff at AQC. I was around the corner at the Stitch in Time booth on Friday and had a fantastic time talking to all those creative people, oh and they brought stuff too. Love those dolls, I'll have to check them out at Stitches and Craft next week. Glad you had a good time in Melbourne.
