10 minutes

Geez life can turn so quickly, one minute your 16 year old is asking if he can stay at his mates place and you head off to drop off some clothes and a toothbrush only to find in that 10 minutes he has fallen over and broken his wrist.

He's bummed as next week he has a Master Class at GYC for admission to a VET hospitality course, no right hand means no chopping. I'm sure he'll get another opportunity.
So as I sit here watching him resting after they've put his bones back into position and plastered him up I think when did my baby grow up to be so brave.

Thank-you to the doctors and nurses at Royal Hobart Hospital, the treatment has been exceptional!

My son did much the same at that age. My sympathies to your son; I'm coming towards the end of my six weeks in plaster for a broken wrist - two bones, one a Colles fracture - I'm guessing from the shape of his wrist that he's got the same. Six weeks seems interminable, but it does pass.

Best wishes for his speedy recovery! Fortunately, they usually heal very quickly when they're young; I sure hope so.

Take care,
