The Quilted Crow's Gathering

I was up bright and early Saturday to pick up Jan of Little Red Hen from the airport, we first went to Salamanca Markets (sorry no pics) for a very brief market experience then it was off to The Quilted Crow's gathering. Of course we sat with all our other bloggy friends

Back Lto R Leanne, Roseanne, Lib, Vicki
Front Lto R Sarah, Me, Fee, Jan

Our guest tutors for the day were the famous duo Leanne and Rosalie. Their projects were gorgeous, I started Leanne's needle roll.

Here's Leanne showing Roseanne and Jan how to sew Dresdons.
Hmmm and I haven't got one pic of Rosalie on my camera but we chatted with her alot. Rosalie explained all the different fussy cuts you can get out of her Sweet Broderie range, perfect for the circles on her bag and Leanne's Vignette hexagon quilt. I'm going to have to get myself alot more of that fabric!
Sarah got to show Leanne her version of the Remember pin board from Vignette Issue 1

Leanne signed my copies of Vignette Issue 1 and 2, they'll be treasures forever now and she also showed us her Vignette Quilt but no sneak peaks of the next block.

Our lovelys hosts Leonie and Dierdre also provided some gorgeous projects.

Dierdre's beautiful wall hanging which she says will fit perfectly on a door.
Leonie made a beautiful table runner and birthday book, you can see both on the blog.

And I had to finish with this beautiful photo of one of the windows on the church, so beautiful!

Tis The Season!

Here's what I've been working on for the last three weeks. I've been stitching these blocks every night and enjoying stitching with one colour, needs very little brain activity, backstitch, running stitch, occassional french knot and wee bit of satin stitching. It's so relaxing. Yesterday was my rostered day off and in between some secret squirrel stuff I put the borders on and joined it together...
Now I'm hoping with this out of the way I'll be able to refocus back onto Gardener's Journal and get it finished once and for all!!

P.S. Visit my friend Fee's blog for a fabulous giveaway!

A Giveaway, a pillow and some sadness

Susan in Texas is having a giveaway to celebrate 3 years of blogging, please pop on over and say hello!

Remember Shell's Bunny Love cushion I was putting together, well I finally bought some filling and have finished it, it's so beautiful!

On a much sadder note the devastation that has struck Japan has left me speechless, I'm so concerned for the country and all it's people. My heart goes out to them all as they deal with the aftermath of the earthquake and Tsunami.
I pray for lots of miracles!

Red, red my world is red

I took part in Maree's Colour Swap and I was lucky to receive my parcel of loveliness from Vanessa of Piecing, Patching. My Chosen colour was red and Vanessa spoilt me with a beautiful knitted cloth, thread, ribbon, fat quarters, strawberry iron-on motif and one of my favourite sweeties, Maltesers Yumm!
Thank-you Vanessa for a gorgeous gift!

Now my pressies went to Maree and they were hand delivered by Fee on Saturday, wish I could have done it myself :-(

Fee and Maree

Maree's chosen colour was brown so keep an eye out on Maree's blog to see what I gave her.

There's snow on the hills!

It seams we've skipped Autumn and jumped straight into Winter, it's snowing up on our lovely Mt Wellington! Bbbbrrrrrrrr
I knew I should have gone to sunny Brissie with Fee!
(A little bird told me they're having a ball)
