I'm a lucky duck!

I'm so lucky to have been given a sneak preview of the Quilt Aid project "Bluebird of Hope", you may have seen a few tidbits popping up in blogland about this exciting new project! There's 12 well known Aussie Designers and 12 Aussie Quilt Shops all taking part and believe me when I say that this is going to be fantastic!
It's co-ordinated by Helen and I must say she's done a terrific job getting everyone on board. The fabric range being used is Satchet Pot Pourri, aren't the colours just devine!!

Now the most important piece of info about this project is that the funds raised will go to a World Vision project - Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. The project goal is to provide services for those suffering from childbirth and related injuries, rehabilitating them to the point where they can be intergrated back into society with dignity and a sense of self worth.

So if you find yourself looking for a new BOM then look no further as this one is truly worth doing, you'll not only finish up with an exquisite quilt but you will have helped a worthy cause. It commences in June so if you're interested you can register online here and get in first!!

Busy, busy, busy

I'm going to be busy over the next couple of months, I've signed up for two swaps!! At least they're due at different times, I'm sure I'll manage.
I was bloghopping about and came across an Annie Swap, now I've always loved Annie dolls so I could not resist, it sounds like so much fun. The other thing I love is Xmas and well having it in July sounds fabulous to me so I accepted Linda's invite and joined her's and Stephanie's Xmas in July swap.
The Xmas in July Swap is invite only, however if you're interested in the Annie Swap it's open until the end of April so click on the link on the right and visit Marcel! There's currently an Annie swap on at the moment and the dolls being produced are just gorgeous! Go on, you know you want to!!

The best thing about being home for the holidays...

....is that I had lots of sewing time!! Talk about productive, I've completed lots of things, one of which I can't show yet cause it's secret squirrel stuff.

Firstly some of you may know that last christmas a not very nice person took Helen's "Pretty in Pink" sample from the Quilted Crow's store so I've been busy making up a new set for her

Plus a set for myself but I still have to make the tissue holderSo if you have recieved a set that looks exactly like Helen's above with a "H" on it, beware as it maybe the stolen goods!

I also completed a sewing tote for myself, I recently made one for the Bushfire Appeal and one for Sarah's Birthday and wanted one for myself. To my other two PIF ladies something will be heading your way soon, I promise!

I've completed the Leanne's House pincushions I received from Quilt Fabric Delight's Pincushion Club, I think I need a bit more practice at the Ric-Rac, some are better than others. And here's two more stitchery BOM's completed

by Gail Pan

by Willowberry Designs

So for the rest of my Sunday afternoon I'm going to relax, maybe read a craft mag or two. I need to do this otherwise I may catch EITTTS!

It's a bit noisy in my house today, the plumber has arrived and is fixing our pipework for the new bathroom so I'm about to escape to my craft room to make my own noise!! I figure if I can't beat them I may as well join them!!

We're Back!

Would you believe we came home on Sunday! A bit of a family drama, nothing serious and all I can tell you is you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family's partners!!

DH & DS did get in one day of gold panning while I headed off with Mum to her group's exhibition. The boys didn't find any gold but Mum and I had a lovely time. Here's a few snaps of some of the quilts

and my favourite, a gorgeous handpieced and hand quilted Red and Green Quilt

Mum gave the opening speech and also entered some of her own workshe didn't win any prizes but it's lovely to see her work on display and being admired by others.

Congratulations to all of the Break O'Day Stitchers for a wonderful exhibition!

I also got to visit Annie's and picked up some xmas fabric for the Xmas in July swap, so I'm off to start cutting out my project.

Happy Easter!

My family is heading off camping over Easter, we're going to try a bit of gold panning this year, hope I come back rich!

I've prepared a few stitcheries to take away with me: Gail Pans BOM, Leanne's House Pincushions and the latest Once Upon a Time block. I think they'll keep me busy.

I'm also going to visit the Break O'Day Stitchers Quilt Show at St Helens, (my Mum's quilting group), she has a few quilts entered, fingers crossed she wins a prize or two. I'll even get a chance to pop into Annie's Cottage Crafts, it's a lovely shop which sells patchwork supplies and gifts.

To all my bloggy friends I hope you have a Happy Easter and I'll see you all when I return!
